wont start

my 97 max has a new sickness! it was sitting for only a week and then when i try to start it the starter just keeps firing away with no result. it doesnt make any wierd noises, it just keeps turning but the engine never kicks on. i sat in the car and turned the key and let it keep going for almost a full minute and the starter was the only thing going. any clue what i need to check? tia.

First of all, check all fuses.

Make sure the cam sensor, and crank sensors are in tact and plugged in.

Oh, do you have enough gas?

Battery has enough power for the computer?

Any recent work done on the car?

i sat in my car for almost 2 hours turning the key trying to get mines to start over the weekend at my girls house, and after praying one minute later it finally did and i drove it home asap and parked it. my pops aka mechanic checked it out with me and stated starter was gone . i still havent put the new starter in yet but we took the old one out, and the area where the wire is connected to was melting . take your starter out and clean the area were the wire clip is connected to and make sure theres a nice shine around that area . clean off your battery terminals of any acid residue . and see if that makes a diff . but sounds like the starter too me
