Ebay intake problem, questions. Help!
Dude, just stop. You dont even know what I'm talking about. Show me what you did! Lets see who's the dumb*** now. If you dont have anything really to say, just stop replying.
I didnt get any small clamps, only the large clamps, and I'm already using those. I doubt you even had a ebay short ram intake.
Show me the clamps your talking about. The large one? I'm using those already!

When I had a short ram, I just used some standard 5/8" heater hose from Autozone. They sell it by the foot, just had to tell them how much I wanted and they cut it for me. You don't have to worry about heat resistance and all of that, you should be able to find it anywhere:
I knew there was somekinda hose. Thanks. I need to go back up there tomarrow. That guy pissed me off, he said it has to be the right kind of tubing/hose, I knew he was wrong, because I've see nso many people use something like it. How much did they charge you? $5. or $8. for both hoses?
nobody was calling you a dumbass. and your right, I dont have an ebay short ram, but I did use the midpipe from one.

I dont even think I have hose clamps on mine though because the fit is tight enough

Thats a nice engine. Whats that red thing and the gauge for? My stock hoses are cracked, and ruined (because they have cracks). Maybe because the prev. owners/owner didnt take care of it right. It was owned by a college girl (hopefully hot ofcourse) and she didnt take care of it correctly, and then when she gave it to her parents, her parents already had cars, so they just let it sit in the backyard.
Any way, I'm going to try to get the good kind of hoses or tubes, because I want it to last.
I'll try to get a picture of the size of the hose it used to be, after I cut it. And a simple engine picture.

I know hot chicks sometimes neglect there cars, but this one was pretty bad. It looks like it was over heated, the hood was all scratched up (and it had tiny parts where small rock or pebbles would hit the hood), the paint was bad, and the body was scratched up a bit, but over all, it was in fairly good condition (until I got into a wreck).
So heater hose or coolant hose? I'm not sure what will have a better fit, and last longer, coolant hose it good for liquids (coolant) but heater hose is meant for the heat (I'm guessing).
I'll just measure what I have on my car now, and measure what I'm going to buy tomarrow, and see what fits the best. But I still have a question, would it matter in any way if I got bulkier kind of hose, or the skinny kind?

My car sounded exactly like that when I had an ebay short ram intake installed - slight hiss/whistle at idle... If you ask me, it sounds normal. The other connector that you're talking about is most likely the Intake Air Temperature Sensor. Doesn't really do anything - I just connected the harness and to this day, even with my stock 5th gen intake, it is floating around somewhere in the engine bay
If your new midpipe didn't come with a pre drilled hole for it, you can just connect the harness and do the same.
The gas pedal thing, check your throttle cable area. I actually had the same problem on my first install. Pedal would only go down like half way. I forced it down and then it like clicked and went all the way to redline, effectively scaring the **** out of me and the entire block. Luckily I was in park
.
The problem? I made a boneheaded move in the install. One of the adjustable clamps for the blue intake tubing was too close to the throttle cables/half-moon, and was causing it to stick. When I forced it down it broke free and well the rest was history
. Check out your TB area to make sure nothing's getting caught over there.

You all know that tiny screw on the TB (where you can change the idle control)? That caused my wreck. It had a habbit of getting loose, and making it hard for me to brake, so I would have to slame on my brakes for it to stop normally. When ever it gets loose, it goes in more, so when I'm not on the throttle, it stays up to 3k+ rpm's. Talk about scary.
Well, back on topic. I noticed there was even more hoses I need (stock hoses cracked), so I might upgrade all of them, or all the ones that are cracked.

I cant get used to it, it sounds like a belt is bad, but the belts are still good. I'm going to make a custom intake, soon. After I get my car all fixed up, I'll be doing some major customizing, nothing ricy though. It will have 2 (yes two) air filters. I'm going to use a exaust pipes for some of it, but I may stick to the cheap but hard route, which going down the expensive way will cost alot more.
Any pictures of your intake? I want to get easy idea's. I've got to draw it out on paper, and measure everything before I can do anything. Tell you the truth, I made a small DR.Pepper can intake, into the ebay intake, it worked perfectly, until I hit a bump, and I seen all my work go onto the highway. I know it sounds stupid, but think about it, at a cost of $5. for like 16+ cans, you can make a easy intake, you just need to cut it up good.

yup i see your problem there.... you got birds stuck in your engine.... how did you manage to get them stuck in there? anyways...back to the subject of what your talking about....... that whine noise is normal... CAI make the same sound... just a little quieter... but eh.. it's ebay stuff.. i can't complain cuz i use egay stuff...
I wouldnt consider buying the same part again, because its not the quatlity that I figured, but yea, it is ebay stuff.
You know the Y part of the dual exausts, I'm going to use a very large one, if I dont find one large enough, then I'll get a friend to make one, or buy one offline.
I want 2 filters, because I want one closer to the front of the car, so like more of a cold air intake, and one mounted somewhere else, but in sight. I want ther to be 2 filters, because it might ease the whine/noise a tad bit, because theres 2 pipes instead of one, and it will want to make the sound, but with 2 pipes it will be quiter. Its hardto explain it really, but I work with engines alot, nothing major but something good.

That sounds like a cool idea, any horsepower gains cause you'd be getting more air to the engine or the same amount because it's the same tubing but divided? hmmm thoughts to ponder...let me know how that works and PM me with pics......Have you thought of biga$$ PVC piping for the Y section?
