KYB: Adjustments on outside?

Folks,

THose of you with KYB AGXs, do you have the rear shocks with the adjustments toward the inside of the car? Or closer to the wheel?

I put mine sticking out, towards the car, not the wheel so thatr I can reach under and see what I am turning it to. Does it really even matter?

Thoughts on my upgrade will come tomorrow. My hands hurt too much to type anymore.

I put mine facing inward, as in not pointing twards the wheel. I thought it would be easier to get my hand around the back of the shock to make adjustments, then in between the wheel and the shock.

End result, you can reach around the back of the wheel/shock and turn the dial. Just keep in mind - clockwise is harder, counter clockwise is softer.

I got mine from Cattman for $380. I used 2nd day air and paid about $50 more for faster shipping.

Put them on this weekend (9 total hours). Never did Macpherson struts before. Kinda interesting with the spring compressors. Very little room to deal with when you don't use compressors that are made for the car.

The ride at setting 1 (Front) and 2 (Rear) (1-4 in front with 4 being the stiffest and 1-8 in rear with 8 being the stiffest) yields a very controllable ride. Road undulations are controlled very nicely with the AGX's and H&Rs. Ride is quieter as well. The stiffest setting you tend to feel the nooks and cranies of the road surface. Love them!

To summarize, this is how I feel about KYB-AGXs:
#1 setting : controlled
#2 setting : taut
#3 setting : firm
#4 setting : rock solid

I highly recommend getting them from CattMan performance.

agx, settings

just got my agx's and h&r's installed...thanks matthel and alex.

initially, i have the fronts set at 2 of 4 and the rears 4 of 8.

chuck gonwa at kyb forwarded to me
these setting relationships:

[The lower the number, the softer the setting.
Basically, for a 4 position adjustable:

#1 = Factory level
#2 = 15% firmer than Factory
#3 = 50% firmer than #2
#4 = 30% firmer than #3

For and 8 position, these values would be at 2,4,6,& 8 with a finer
adjustment in between.]

hope this helps...enjoy!
