its prob b/c of the tint. same thing applies to the auto gear display shifter.
can't really do anything, if you try and scrape it off, your most likely going to mess up the displays. just leave it alone

An SE cluster wont help. Any white face gauges have a blue backing to them. The black face gauges however, have no tint.

I saved this pic from along time ago in a post and whoever it was mentioned sanding the back of the gauges to remove the tint. I can't confirm it'll work because I have yet to try it. Looks like you would have to remove your needles to remove the gauge faces so proceed at your own risk.

My black face gauges does have a tint on them as well. I replaced the bulbs with some hyper white bulbs a while back and all the gauges have either a tint of blue or purple in them.

Yeah didnt someone also mention using a mild solution of acetone to wipe it off too? I may be mistaken though, seems like it would melt the plastic.

Correction on my part:

The Black gauges do have them, however on 3 of the 4 gauges, the blue can be removed. The speedo's blue tint is actually the plastc itself.

Fanatik, Not sure how your friends white SE gauges dont...mine do...

put a yellow filter on the bulbs, it should cancel out the blue from the gauges and make white light, try that first and then get yellow leds if it works
