De-K Swap

Hey everyone, for those of you that read my post about my vq30de catching on fire, I just finished my vq30dek swap today and i ran the car from pa to ny to open up the injectors and break it in. And boy let me tell you, this car got some kick lol. The only problem I had was the 00v1 system. The manifolds had a leak in it so it was sucking in extra air. This caused my check engine light to come on, so i simply put my manifolds fom the vq30de on it and that fixed the problem, but my cel is still on. How would I check to see the code that's being thrown? and also, how would i clear it? Thanks.

theres a sticky in this forum that shows you how to check the codes using a screwdriver, and how to find out what the code means.

If you have a question, first thing you do is look though the stickies. At the very least, look at the titles.

You bought a DEK, then swapped for the DE IM?

You do realize that's the main reason why the DEK is better than the DE...

Im assuming because he had the DE mani on hand versus the car being down waiting for another 00 Mani?

I just got burned out of $60 for this exact reason. You do what you gotta do to get your car back on the road guys.

you really should read the stickies or at least use the search button. Just remember next time, some of the old timers around here get alittle **** about that. Oh ya, I said it!

Well for those of you that were asking about the 00vi mani, I swaped the de ones on the dek motor because the 00vi were sucking in extra air from a spy hole. So i sent it back to the place that i got the motor from and as soon as they get a motor they're going to send me the 00vi to put back onto my motor, or they will send out mine to get shaved if one doesn't turn up in the next week or so. I needed my car to get from school in pa to ny due to the fact i'm on spring break, so for the time being i said screw it and slapped back on the de manis. The car still has that nice kick to it, Yes it feels like it's missing something, but it's still running fine.
