I Need Help!! I have a question about my axles!!

I have a 97 nissan maxima and i need to replace the axles. It is a 5 speed. I need to know what type of axle i need either a locking dif or a non locking dif. ???
If some one can please let me know!!!

The dealer told me to take it all off before i buy them and look but i would rather buy them then put it on. it will save me the time and trouble of waiting for the part.

Look at the trans code on the metal tag on the passenger side firewall. If theres a "V" in the trans code then you have a locking diff. Otherwise you dont.

Non-locking.

Mind you this information can also be found through search and the stickies.

Are you seriously buying axles from the dealer? Bad move, way too expensive.

Don't buy the axles at the dealer. I guarantee they'll rape you on $.
