A/C Compressor Clutch is shot????
A couple of months ago I posted this:

A whining noise coming from belts, and it now sounds like something is screeching (metal things that need to be oiled, something!)
Finally took some time to take to a mechanic, mechanic changed the belt and pulley ($250 total), and the noise is still there! He said its the AC compressor clutch, a $600 part!
This is ridiculous, im tired of spending so much money on this car. Has anyone had a problem with this before or am i being bull****ted?!?

remove the belt and spin the compressor it probably the bearing on the pulley...
i would remove the belt and turn the engine on for a second or 2 to see if the noise is gone..
the clutch can be replaced and i think nissan charges 300 buck for it..

So you took your car to a mechanic because of this noise.
He changed your belts and the idler pully, yet the noise is still there?
Then he tells you the noise is coming from the A/C compressor.
Soooo, why in he11 did he replace the belts and the pully if they were not the cause of the noise?
You need a new mechanic, one who knows how to troubleshoot before replacing components at your expense.
BTW - You can pick up a rebuilt A/C compressor for under 200 bucks online with a warranty.

The mechanic said the cost of the AC clutch was $600? That about what the dealership charges for a whole new AC compressor with clutch.
Definitely find a new mechanic.
Mechanic had told me that they run around 600, and he's right cuz i went to Nissan and thats how much they really are. Can you beleive that the clutch is actually more than the compressor PLUS the clutch??? lol
njmaxseltd , WHERE can i find a rebuilt one like you said?? 200 is perfect...
