Power shifting

With a 5spd car when you go to shift just keep your foot down all the way on the gas pedal while you shift.Get it?
I don't no how bad it is for your car but it is definetly not good unless you have a performance clutch then it probably wont heart your car much.

Typically, one does a lift-throttle upshift: ease up on the accelerator pedal while depressing the clutch pedal, and then re-apply the accelerator as you ease off the clutch pedal. This saves wear and tear on your clutch.

A power shift is completed at WOT without lifting off the gas pedal. The clutch is engaged and the shifter is slammed as quickly as possible before releasing the clutch pedal. This probably causes more wear on the clutch than anything else, unless you have a seriously upgraded clutch. When it comes to the drive-train, usually the clutch is designed to be the weak link, since it is cheaper and easier to replace than a tranny. Even racers take this approach...

Just another thought... I have power shifted, too. By the time my clutch stopped slipping, I would have been better off with a lift-throttle shift in the first place. :-) I think my power shifting days are over. Why abuse my daily driver like that? It's like teasing a dog: It serves no useful purpose, and you'll probably get bit in the a$$.

Well, when you speed shift, or power shift, with an upgraded clutch, you ru the risk of fu**ing up your tranny. After I installed my Stage III clutch, I went to the track, and completely blew out 3rd and 4th gear! It gripped so hard and fast that I would get 3rd gear birches at the track! Plus, I didn't ever notice a difference on my time slips, so no more for me!
