The other day my front left speaker blew. This is on a 95 with the bose system. Suffice to say I do not have the money to buy a new speaker or even go to a pick-a-part due to being laid off. What would be the easiest way to just disconnect that single front left speaker?

Pull the door panel off and unplug the big connector going to the amp box on the speaker assembly.

Take off the door panel, unscrew the 4 speaker screws, and pull it out. It's that simple.

If you didn't know, the OEM speaker is actually only like 35 bucks from the stealership I think...I know you mentioned not having money, but just for reference.

i didn't know they were so cheap. i guess knowing that i can just avoid the pick-a-part and buy a new one when i have the $.

unfortunately the display on the deck doesn't light up either so at some point i will have to replace that as well but for now that is minor. the blown speaker is totally ruining my driving experience though lol.

Or just adjust your fader to power only the rear speakers.

I just replaced all four speakers in my 97 last week. Broke the door handle cup on the driver's door, so be gentle with them.

In the rears, there was literally no connection between the paper cones and the speaker frame left. It had all corroded away due to the sun and fallen off.

Also the way the rears are set up (stupidly) you have to remove the entire back seat, upper rear trim pieces, and the rear deck cover to get to them. One of the upper rear trim pieces had the molded-in mounting point break off as well, had to epoxy it back together.

All that is so easy to remove though. Takes 20 mins tops.

Yup, that's what it took me my first time... That door kicked my ***... and the worst part is, I messed up putting it back, cause every once in awhile the window will catch the rubber and will inch it's way down super slow....

The second door took me like 20 mins tho, from together, speaker install, and back together.

Oh, now that I think about it, I really messed it up, I didn't seat the window switch connector properly, so at random times my car wouldn't lock.

Simple, yes. Easy, not always. I cracked the rear driver side trim piece on mine when I put my 6x9s in.
