Auto climate control won't shut off

Had an unusual problem that started last week. My battery went dead while I was out of time. The car was jump started, fired up without any issues, not sure if this has anything to do with my problem.

After I fired up the car the auto-climate control will not shut off. The illuminated fan speed indicator is erratic as well. I cannot adjust the fan speed, the four indicators keep flashing.. When I press the 'OFF' button on the cluster it refuses to shut down. I have not pulled my fuse.

A/C works fire, it will defrost the windshield. It functions fine, but it's kind of annoying to look at.

I am leaning towards a bad A/C Heater control unit.

Anyone run across this in the past? I did a search but could not find anything.

unhook the battery cables to do a reset and see if the issue comes back? you can probably find troubleshooting info in the fsm.

Thanks for the response.. when you say do a reset, what exactly does that entail?

Won't pulling the cables for 5-10 mins accomplish this?

Cool, I also read (different thread) where pmohr posted the diagnostic procedure for the climate control, thanks!
