Wont Start - Alarm

Sadly, my max has sat for about a year. Of course, in that time, the battery has died, so I bought it a new battery. Once I put the new battery in, the alarm starts going off. I try to disable it by the key ****, but it doesn't work. The battery is still good in the **** (tested w/ volt meter). It also wont turn over, or even try to, but I'm assuming that is because the alarm is going off. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

+1

Unless its an aftermarket alarm, in that case, if you don't have a remote for it, unplug the harness connection from the unit of the alarm.

maxima alarms go off then jump starting them of changing batteries bacause it thinks someone is stealing it. just unlock ur car or remove the fuse. this happened to me once while jumping my car. took a good 30 minutes to figure it out. i feel ur frustration because it was a pain in the ***. if your cars been sitting for a year. its a good idea to change ur gaskets also because the ozone will break your gaskets down....might save u some time cuz burning oil sucks LOL
