Car leans out and almost dies at angle
Correct me if I am wrong, but the ECU reverts to a pre-programmed fuel mapping at WOT, and disregards sensor input.
Judging by the randomness of the problem, I'm going to agree with some of the others and say its a bad connection somewhere. That is the only thing that makes sense to me as far as you saying it ran better when the engine was moved slightly, or maybe kept from moving slightly. And a bad connection could make sense with you saying the orientation of the car makes it run better or worse.

I suppose when you do the 00vi how that sits. But it doesn't feel like a Map problem. it feels like something is getting stuck
It will get 'stuck' in this lean mode, and won't come out, I have to press the pedal down like 5 times really fast so that it keeps riching out, and then it'll pop out and upshift.
Someone offered the suggestion of a brake booster leak? Not sure if it would do anything like this but it DOES lean out once I start hitting the brakes. specially if I hit them hard.
Edit: I went out and cut up that section that is turned up against the firewall. all of the outside wires looked fine. So I'm assuming all the inside wires are also fine. No luck. There was one that looked bad but I cut it and checked resistance.
Looked good...I doubt its my wiring harness.

Okay so I hate my car...
not sure what was different about today.
I went out and pulled my wiring harness up and moved it around a bit, I cut open a slot to check for some broken wires, and I got nothing. But when I got in my car to drive it tonight. It ran perfect. absolutely ****ing perfect. And that's what pisses me off.
Idk if I did something different, or if the nice 70 degree weather effected it at all, but it stayed 14.7 most all the time.
I do have a feeling I have a leak in the brake booster somewhere, it does tend to lean out a little when I press on the brakes. I drove it pretty slow. And when I was happy that it was running good. I got on the highway and did a little WOT test. It ran good. when I let off it went into it's lean mode. But shortly came out... I have a feeling the cat is seriously clogged. not sure if that will cause my problem, but I have a hi-flow on the way so we'll see what happens then. It still felt slow and sluggish, like something is holding it back. but it could just be a seriously clogged cat, It's running rich after I put the headers on and I havn't had time to tune it for when the VI opens, so it dips to about 11.x. So possibly having Headers and a bigger y-pipe leading to a stock cat with 240k miles on it had or has something to do with it. Idk
Maybe when I moved around my wiring harness I some how fixed a short or broken wire. idk. Idk. Whatever...

Maybe this is something I can post in the "problems that fixed themselves" thread. lmao.....

Figured it out...
I've been trying to figure out why randomly it stopped doing it.
But the other night it was cold so I turned my heater on, and about 30 minutes later it started to do it again. It's been warmer lately so I havn't ran the heater much at all.
But its for sure the heater that is causing it. I'll turn it off and it'll run bad for about an hour and then just run perfect...
Does running the heater dump anything into the exhaust? I can't think of why the heater would even effect it unless, by having the headers and then the heater on I'm building up way to much engine heat, which is...causing....not sure.
