Dashboard Dimmer Switch doesn't work after 95-97 Indiglo gauge install

When installing Initial K 95-97 indiglo gauges, where is the red wire supposed to connect to? I have a 96 Maxima SE and what I did is physically cut the blue wire from the dashboard dimmer switch box (disconnecting the connection to the dashboard switch box) and spliced it to the red wire of the indiglo gauge transformer box.

Was I not supposed to physically cut the blue wire or something? Because now, my dimmer switch to control the brightness of my WHOLE Dashboard does NOT work! I can't even see my shifter light or the odometer on my car. Although it takes like 5 minutes for the dashboard lights to come on (not full brightness tho!). Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I really want to get my dimmer switch for the dashboard to work again! Was I supposed to JUST cut the wire tubing on the blue dimmer switch wire and just tap the red wire to it (meaning that I wasn't supposed to cut the blue wire entirely off?). Hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about, and sorry if I might have confused u guys. Thanks again.

Thanks for the help guys.

ok i cant remember back to what wires i cut and spliced into (color wise) but i do know that you are NOT supposed to mess with the dash dimmer switch at all...i hooked up my red wire from the indiglo guages to my parking light wire... so i can use my indiglos when i have my parking lgihts/headlights on, obviously, and i also did not mess with my dimmer switch at all......hope this helps you...

well since i DIDNT keep mine in, i still know i hooked it up. you can run it off the Fuse panel of dash ill. or something to that idea. otherwise splice it into a dimmer wire, there should be plenty, but fuse panel is definatly the easiest... i will help you sometime steve... Hall
