Water pump service.

i read all of the write ups. and its actually pretty simple for me. i also bought a bunch of tools that i want to use already....why i made this thread is to ask about one of the steps.

1. when u remove the cover, is the timing chain tensior right behind it? and in front of the water pump?

2. and does it sorta pop out at a angle when u remove the timing cover? or is it in a case sorta thing....(pic 1 being the case) that u pull down. (or is that the tensioner at all in the picture?)

3 and also, is there a bolt or nut or a drain plug on the block where i can drain all of my coolant? or water in my case?

sorry for the newb questions, i just want to do this right. don't wanna screw it up.

The tensioner and the water pump are behind different covers.

There's a drain plug directly beneath the water pump:

Are you removing the timing cover, or just the access covers? Your question asks one, you implied the other. The tensioner will come right out.

There are several coolant drain plugs on the block, but you don't really need to use them.

Just ensure that you don't get the chain caught on the pump.

Also, do you have the correct bolts for jacking the pump out? Should be 8x1.25.

Here's what I used, right about the perfect length to use a ratchet wrench on them comfortably:

Should be fine, short of a factory defect. I've been running on an AZ pump for what, 4 years now.
