need some technicians

couple nites ago, im coming home from work and fill up my gas tank. everything fine. next morning i go to start my car, starts up, but it cant idle. instead of stoppin at like 700 rpms, it goes straight to zero and stalls everytime. if i gave it gas and held it at the idle it was fine. took it out, if i came to a stop or put the clutch down with a enuff time to drop it would stall, basicaaly i wont idle. dad thought cuz of water in the gas tank so tried dry gas and everything drove around, no luck, if i was lucky it would idle at like 150 rpms and make the whole car vibrate. nissan couldnt see me till next week, and dry gas wasnt working so i went under the hood, assumed the problem was only focused on the idle point, becuz it drives perfecly fine throughout the rpms, only drops when its supposed to idle. I tightened the throttle wire and also set the idle screw up about 2 mm. now it idles at 6-700 like it used to and i think i did a temporary fix, but tonite when i started it up cold, normally it will idle at like 1500 rpms to warm up, but it will only go to where i set it and struggle for a little bit, then its fine when it warms up. what the heck happend? and what should be fixed? is there a such thing as an idle sensor? by the way i have 60k miles on my car and am gettin ready to do the tuneup, but what is the exact thing causing this??

might be your idle air control vavle (iacv). i took mine out of the car, took it apart and cleaned out the gunk with throttle body spray & that did the trick. i also had a bad mas air flow sensor the same month & i changed that as well. hard to tell if they were related (i'm no mechanic) but the iacv is a start. good luck

I dont know if newer cars have this but in my old firechicken I had this problem. It turned out to be a clogged PCV valve...

I think it kind of happened all of a sudden, never noticed it until one day when it started stalling on me.
