I just had a brake job done(actually my dad did, cuz he didn't want me to do it) and now after driving into the city and back the driverside rear brakes smell, a burning brake smell. I was wondering what could cause this smell, a pad that's dragging or what? I'm gonna check it completely in the morning, but can someone give me a pointer on what to look for? thanks.

 

It's normal. New brake pads always smells when first broken in.
