heated/power seat swap

I just searched but found no answer to my problem. I just swapped my manual heated passenger side seat for a power passenger side without heat. Now I swapped out the bottom and removed the heating element from the upper part and reinstalled it in the power side. Now I am getting power to the seat but not the heater. I know it's summer but I want it to work. Now when I removed the old manual seat the seat came right out but no plugs were plugged into the seat, just the wires that are in the heater were plugged together. Anyone with any ideas?

Wait, if no wires were going into the seat, then how did the heater work before?

So you say you're no longer getting power to the harness for the heating elements? You have checked fuses, and made sure they're plugged in, correct?

How do you know that you're not getting power to the seat heater?.....was the key on when you tried?.....are your fuses/switches good?

I know those stock heaters to be fairly delicate....so they're easy to break when transplanting from one seat to another...you might wanna check that too.

Use a testlight or multimeter first to see if you're getting power to the heated seat harness.

they worked before or at least the passengers said it was. I plugged everything up my driver side works but not the passenger side. I even waited 10min to see if it works. I have the buttons for both also. They work fine I switched out the two to see if it was the switches. No luck so if my seats had the heating element that means they were working before right? I am just stumped about no plugs for the passenger side? and also does the passenger side have a wire running from the seat belt also? the drivers side has it and the 3 plugs on the drivers side working fine also.

Sentence structure and paragraphs help immensely, just FYI. It's hard to decipher anything out of that.

So, again, have you checked for power at the harness for the heated seats?

What do you mean by 'if they had them they must have been working before'? No. By that logic, they should be working now, because you still have them.

No, IIRC, the passenger side doesn't have a wire running to the seat buckle, as the car doesn't car if a passenger is safe.

So there's absolutely no connectors on the passenger's side?

If so, how did you expect the heated seat to work, much less the power?

Sorta off-topic but not that much. Swapped my interior for leather out of a 95. Wired my driver seat manually to my cig lighter. But i couldnt wire the part that makes the seat go forward and back. When i wired it, the seat would go back and forth everytime the car would be on without me even touching the switch on the seat.. Any help?

...it's a 2 pin connector, I don't see how one could possibly screw up wiring that in.

Okay heres the deal. I have power running to the passenger seat. I also have changed out the switches and they work also. I switched out the passenger seat back and removed that element(the manual seat). I put the other in the power seat. Now I plugged up the seat and I removed the hog ties and searched the bottom for the plug to the heating element but no luck. I don't see any cut wire or plug coming from the bottom of the seat to get power to the heating element. I have two plugs under the seat one I plugged into the power and it works but the other I assume is the heater plug. Now I am wondering if I have a heated driver seat(it still works) how can it be that I don't have a plug for the passenger seat and it has the cold package?

So you had factory heated seats?

Have you looked under the carpet for the heated seat harness, to see if it got pushed back under there?

Did you buy the car new? Maybe one of the POs added heated seats themselves, and only wired up the driver's side.

I bought it used. Yes factory heated. When I took the old manual seat out I looked to see if anything was plugged up because I did'nt unplug anything. Now I have the switches and the plug and heating elements but no factory plug. My choice now is to either find a factory plug and splice it into the existing or run as I read and searched here. What a pain in the @#$%&@ Speaking of that would the plugs & elements of a J30 heated seat work? The switches work ,those I swapped out but I wonder about the actual plugs & elements? I know a JY full of them heated.

Well if there's no connector for the heating elements on the passenger's side, it's likely not a factory heated car.

I have the connecter for the heating element coming from the carpet area. I don't have one coming from the seat.

So there's no connector in the old seat, or in the new seat?

Never mind I found the connector in the cushion of the seat bottom hidden and it plugs right up and it's working!

Why does everybody assume all 4th Gens are the same? Maybe everyone should include the exact Year/Model that they drive for context.

There's a plug pigtailed under my passenger seat that's hot with 12v. I'm going to try to find a power passenger-side seat tomorrow at the junkyard.
