OBX V2 VQ35 Headers installed on a 4th gen

OK, I finally got these things installed on my 4th Gen. Took me a while because I ended up doing the Transmission and I did the friction disk etc. Anyway they fit, I by passed the EGR but all my equipment is still in the car I just cut off my old pipe and the headers don't have EGR so I didn't hook it up. First impressions the car is a lot quieter but sounds pretty decent you get on it and it sounds like it could do some damage . The headers are mated to the Greddy SP2 catback. and BTW i can actually hear the vortech bypass valve. I will add pics later just too tired right now. So if you see me in the street let me pass, Cause if you wanna play you will get hurt .. lol. Anyway thanks for all that supported me with the questions esp pmohr and a special thanks to Bobby... Awesome dude let me use his shop and give me a hand once in a while. pics will be added. I have no clips yet I will do that later. Maybe at the meet in the next 2weeks.

Nah Im just playing. I just had to put something stupid in there. But in all honesty though, the car has a decent sound to it - doesn't sound like 90% of VQ30's out there because of the equal length Y-pipe and the headers are Mid lenght but def longer than the stock shortys. The car pulls really really hard up top. I just have a bit more to do then hit the dyno. Hoping for over 350FWHP, Last year the DEK injectors were making me run lean but after the 440cc I just might be able to hit that number.

No sir.. Bolt right up. The only thing i Had to do is shave the crossmember a hair just like the 5thgen guys. I could have gotten away with it but i just wanted piece of mind. The O2 sensor locations are perfect too so you dont have to have em re-drilled. My rear one is located right by the bend. Will post pics up 2mrw!!

I am just curious, what do you mean when you say "I don't have the power for em?" Is the diameter too large or do they flow too easily for a N/A setup or something?

Hahaha You had to ask... Nope. I just moved the seat to the right position and never moved em ever again. It stops my sister from wanting to drive my car coz I cant move the seat. Hint hint.

Neil what are you running for lowering em. I just changed my setup to Eibachs too. lol. The other ones were way too low I didn't want to bottom out onto to the headers.

hahah That's one thing I like about driving a stick car. Only a few people in my family can drive it other than me.

Well it's just more noticeable now that the offsets are gross. I hate looking tucked. I could get spacers but I also want a wider lighter wheel. I've got a few ideas floating around.

Unless you're adding boost or a VI of some sort, you will most likely not notice the difference. Most people that say they notice the power bump from the slightest mods it's just placebo. Headers for example, you most likely will not notice the extra power, maybe after you tune the car and lean it out a bit...

You really don't think you'll feel a power difference between stock manifolds and Y and a set of headers (regardless of brand)?

Honestly, who knows, maybe yes maybe no. I'm going from a 96 with a vq30de, modded intake, y-pipe, and a catback to a 96 with a DE-K, modded intake, hotshot headers, catback and tuning. I'm sure I will. However when years and years ago I first started modding, the difference after the y install wasn't really there. Yes I know after 3.5k rpm the gains are proven to be there, but I didn't notice that much of a difference. 10hp on a butt dyno, I don't think so. The difference in sound alone can make you believe the gains are there, the dyno numbers will tell you the gains are there. All that will make your mind tell you the gains are there and that you can feel it.

Seriously? I beg to differ. I will go out of my way to show you that the VI seriously adds power up top.

That being said, I need an A32 UIM if you want me to.

Still in for the pics on these though.

Which VI?

+1. It doesn't really FEEL much different low or mid-range, but it's easy to tell that it keeps pulling up top instead of dying like crazy. The biggest thing you should notice besides that is smoothness (over the whole rev range).

Were the cars with the VI tuned properly? If they just threw on the 00vi with its fuel rail and larger injectors it will be running pig rich and you probably won't notice any gains.

I wouldn't think these gains would go unnoticeable:
