Is it necessary to tune your ECU in your car after minor mods??

I heard someone talking about performance tuning their car and getting power gains.. So I was wondering if I could.

My car
95 maxima 5 spd w/ cai, suspention upgrade, short shifter, high peformance fuel pump.

Any advice?? I'm new to this site.

our ecu's are not easily tuneable - they have to reflashed by companies like jwt - which you'd know if you searched. your mods have no power gains anyways - especially the "high performance" fuel pump - the pump flows more but the pressure regulator limits that flow down the line.
btw be glad pmohr isn't here today...yet

if you got a high flow pump instead it's money wasted unless you get a turbo/sc in the future. what kind of a suspension upgrade do you have?

Thanks for the input.

Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but I'll make it more clear:

No. No tune needed for you, your "95 maxima 5 spd w/ cai, suspention upgrade, short shifter, high peformance fuel pump" will be okay without modification, If you need a new ECU just get another stock 5 spd for ease of install...

You cant tune your ECU... they dont hold settings like others do. You need an external controller, such as an AFC, or Emanage. And no, your list of mods does not require a tune.
