Radiator Support Replacement (only lower)
I need to know if its very possible to replace only the Lower radiator support instead of replacing the full radiator support. I recently replaced the radiator support but i used a after market one. and after that one broke im just gonna get a OEM radiator support now. but the question i have is can i just replace the lower support where the crossmember bolts to. This is a link to the illustration http://www.courtesyparts.com/maxima-...1897_1900.html
try this. has my whole decision process and everything as well as more links.

How easy it is for you to replace just the lower tie bar will depend on how well welded the aftermarket assembly is where the upper and lower parts meet.
When I did mine I found I could not practically remove just the lower support because the OEM had welds I could not get to since I was unwilling to remove my condenser. I to had an aftermarket replacement originally but when I took a closer look at the gauge of the OEM and compared, it was about a 3 to 1 difference!
I ended up using the upper half of the aftermarket one and mated it up with a new OEM lower one I got after noting the difference in thickness. This turned out to be a mistake because my hood, headlights and grill didn't line up properly afterward, even though the fenders did. I lived with it like that for a week then stripped it down again and welded the OEM upper half back in and after that it was both hunky as well as dory
