Found a huge puddle of tranny fluid on the garage floor today.
Got under the car and the pass. side axle is leaking tranny fluid. I just replaced it about a month ago. I noticed that the little brass washer thing on the end of the shaft is distanced from the transmission (sorry for the bad pic):

Is that normal? I have a feeling either the seal is leaking, or this washer is causing the leak. Any input is appreciated.
4AT, btw.

When you put in your driver's side axle, did you make sure it "clicked" all the way in? If not the retaining ring may have not been all the way in and therefore not seated correctly.
II was you, I would drain the rest of the fluid. Take the passenger side axle out and make sure its all the way in and seated correctly. I know its a PITA (I've had to do it before
) but this is the only way you can be sure....while you're under there you can check the axle seal on the tranny a lot better.

I got it all put back together. The leak was caused because that brass dust shield, pictured in the first picture, had a burr on the edge that cut the axle seal. Replaced the seal, smoothed out the dust shield, and all is back together and well. We'll see if the leak is gone!
Thanks 96blackmaxSE for your help.
