Anyone interested in learning how to make a console for rear passengers?

So i been thinking about making a rear console to fit flush with the middle console of our car.

The idea is to expand the back of the middle console to the rear seat. And all from fiberglass. And have little options like cup holders and window switches along with ash-trays (if needed). but then again i don't think the window switches would make it any better, but i'd think i would give it a try to see how it would turn out.

If anyone is interested in seeing this, i would be glad to "try" to make one and share this with the org.

I'd be interested.

I plan to one day install heated seats in the rear (either I35) or take the wrap off and install pads) and have switches, so this would be nice.

I would love to add rear cup holders, and to mod the front ones to fit 20oz drinks

Rear AC vents would be nice.

95-96 consoles fit 20oz drinks. I had to swap one in. Plus, I dont have to worry about the cupholders breaking. Or there's always the big cupholder under the arm rest.

i was thinking about running extra air tubes from the front of the dash to the back to give the rear passengers air vents as well, Any other opinions that someone may give me i might can try to fabricate most in the idea

or we could use GIANT water bags and fill our drinks in them and run rubber hoses as straws and drink from that

The 5th gen center console doesn't go all the way to the back seat?

One that goes all the way back will give the 4th gen the 6th gen elite package feel/look.

And to get real crazy, put a screen from the ceiling down, and add controls to the rear console.

If I had that, my 99 would be as good as most 2009's.

i will when i get home. its a timely process sir. you have to make mold, fiber glass, resin, overlay cloth over a few more times, sand to smooth finish, beer, more beer, bondo, sand, beer, more beer, sand again, prime, dry, eat, paint color of choice, setup spray gun, mix color, 2:1, spray, let dry for 30-60 minutes, mix clear 4:1, spray, allow dry, 30-60 minutes, inspect, let dry overnight in safe place, wake up, look at yourself in mirror, brush your teeth, shower, get dressed, look at yourself in mirror again, go back to the finished product, look at it in AWE, admire again, get that dam bug that was crawling on it last night, inspect again, install on car, admire again, and then show it off to your maxima.org buddies. OR, unless you want it to really break when i ship it to you. then i can half *** one for you hahaha

Side note:

If you want rear AC vents, use the ones from under the front seats, just re route them. Rear cup holders would definitely be nice, as well as rear volume controls for the stereo.

the volume control for the rear is easy, variable resistor connected to the speakers.

thanks for putting up the pics. but you see where the gaps are, thats what i would need the fiberglass squares for. Or i may just go and cut my old center console up and make something work.

also the stock e-brake boot fis snugly in place. but this whole thing takes some small fabrication if any one decides to do this, let me know and ill tell you what you need to trim.

now what you dont see is the sensor on the parking brake that activates the light gets bumped, actually broken by the cup holders in the front. i haven't got around to fixing this yet cause its no big deal to me,but i do like to have my shish complete.

also its longer in the back than the stock 4th gen console but it also gets thinner in the back. so the brackets in the back that hve the screw holes stick out the sides. again, not a big deal. other than that. the rear 12v plug is working and it comes in handy when the kids ride with me on a road trip.

thats what i was thinking. A dremel and maybe some fiberglass. It would be a hot center council. Ive always liked how they looked and the functions are a plus as well.

Definitely interested in what happens.

If I can get the look that the 6th Gen. Maximas with the Elite Package have, I'd be very happy.
