maxima makes no power

Pmohr needs to make a how to - Swap 3.5 into 4g!
Paul, when is this gonna happen bro ???? lolOk, so I think you're saying you use the same ecu, engine harn, cluster / harn, and nats? Only 99' had NATS and iirc, the op is a 97'?
OP::::
Have you done a compression check on it yet? That'd be my next move if it were my ride. You could have a warpped head (or gasket). Let us know what the #'s are on the compression check. You can DIY for cheap. A gauge should only cost you $20 or so ... depending (I shop at HarborFreight! - no, I'm not being payed to say this! lol )

You need the NATS from the donor car with the ECU, key and all that.
No real need for the cluster, but you do need some dash harness for some things to work.
IMO I would never do a hybrid swap, full or nothing.
WOW !!!!! That's sad, really sad.
A few notes worth mentioning:
limp mode is only on auto trans (I'm pretty sure anyway)
reason I ask about body (really - exahust) and engine was to see if there might be something there, doesn't seem to be. Have you tried to reset the ECU? Unplugg the bat terminals (both of them) and tie, literaly, them together - leave it like this for 15 min's or so, then hook it back up. You're using the stock 3.0 ECU, correct? Have you got access to a 3.5 ECU by chance? If not, try and pick one up in the classifieds (5.5 or 6th gen) for cheap, could very well be your problem.
You were 'adjusting' (although, there really is none) the CKPS, anything else? Make sure your MAF plug is on all the way and that nothing is in the way blocking it (the wire inside). CAI, or stock intake? Does the car seem to rev ok in N, or does it seem to dog even then?

ill reset the ecu tomorow see wat happends.. ill check the maf to even tho i changed it..i got a injen cai... when in N it revs fine
Not sure i'm following here?

i did a compression test all ready 180 accross the whole board
bah i got my engine for pretty much free. Well i did but it was still cheap...
I dun did the budget swap.
I forgot to mention.
That parts list would be from a 02+ i belive you could use alti as well

if you've lost that much power, here is the list that i personally would go through. Might not be the best list or the correct list.
Check spark plugs to see if there is oil, gas, etc. then i would check the compression of the engine. After that, i would check the timing. This is assuming you said you've checked out all the sensors.

How would your timing be off? Was this a sudden loss of power, or more gradual? I'm not sure how it could be the timing, but then again - stuff happens and there's no exlpination.
To check the timing, pull cyl 1 plug, bring it to TDC and check the crank marks on the cover. Just make sure you're not 180º out (being at TDC for exahust stroke). Believe it or not, I've seen a VW bug 180 out and it ran ... how I don't understand, but it did. Ran like crap, but it ran. Did you do any cam work or TC work?
