I cant get into correct programming mode but my car does recognize the keyless remote.

I have a 98 max and did try to unplug and plug the trunk module and it didnt help

i put the key in the ignition 6 times and the hazards DO NOT start flashing, however after I put the key in ACC and press a button on the remote, the hazards flash twice right after i hit the button on the remote, indicating some sort of signal recognition by the car, however the remote is NOT programmed and doesnt work.

the problem lies in why cant I get my car into programming mode by doing key, ignition trick 6 times. im removing it completely also.

any help?

 

How did you do it? I just bought a key fob and programmed it using this guys instructions:
