After getting my Max stolen and then Wrecked
and with 197.000 miles i still couldn't get rid of it,
Front end was gone interior trash
and being that i have not been working since Last august
Funds are really short

So i decided to paint my car myself
The so called $50 paint job
i used a Gallon of rustoleum Gloss Black paint
and some mineral spirits
and after seeing nothing but youtube videos it was on
i used a spray gun which helps alot

and believe me it beats a Maaco
i was impress

The interior i was able to buy some vinyl tan fabric for $25
and wrapped all the door panels
I also used some louis vuitton Vinyl($60) on the inserts and headliner

I did my headlight retro for $30 bucks
I already had the Ballast and Bulbs of 02 Q45
I used 350z projectors that i found on craigslist for $30 I know People are against them because of there output But i grind the S**t of the shield, So it pick up the output quite a bit
So even if times are hard anybody could do this

+1 for creativity and doing it yourself...but I'm going to leave it at that.

 

i got my 77 f150 re painted @ maaco, they messed up my hood scoop, sanded some spots but not others, and did an un even shot of clear,and i paid wayy more than $50.

i like the louis vuitton vinyl, but i think u could've done a better job tightening up the rest.

 

Yeah I know on the tightening But its my first attempt at this But my next one will be better

 

where did you find the vinyl fabric at?

but srsly...whats with the Louie Vuitton doors....

the interior is a little clashy for me

 

Take some 2000 grit sand paper & your water hose & wet sand the paint. Then grab your buffer & go to town. Make sure to use alot of compound especially around the edges that way you lower the risk of burning through the paint. I would start first with the wing to get the hang of it. This way if you do burn through the paint you can always respray the wing.

You'll be amazed how much better the paint will look once it's been buffed out. Not to mention the reflection will be alot less muddled looking. Good job with the paint!!!
