4th Gen Paint Poll
Ok guys and gals. I have 1997 Deep Evergreen 4th Gen Maxima.
Summer is basically but I still would like to paint my car. Just need the opinions of my fellow orgers.
I am not a fan of the color of my car but with a fresh coat of paint and keeping it clean all the time. It should come out great and may change my opinion. Also keep in mind the rims I will be putting on these rims.
My choices are :
1] Keep the car deep evergreen, to hopefully have this color:
2] Paint the car sage mist green, to hopefully have this color:
So you guys tell me what you think I should do!

Deep Evergreen FTGDMFW!!
My 97 I30t is this color. I personally hated it when I first got it, but accepted it since I got it with a 5spd VLSD. It didnt take long for the color to grow on mr though.
It looks amazing in the light, especially when the light hits it just right...and you see all the metallic. And its a dark color so it looks black most of the time. Hell my kids thought my car WAS black for the first couple months I had the car.
Another thing is that it doesnt seem to be that common of a color, at least here in Dallas. I see a lot of Sage Mist though.
I say keep the color you have. Your car looks hot as it is.

go black..its common but looks so good when its got a fresh paint job and a good wash and wax..but if you gotta choose between those two go with the sage mist i have only seen like 2 of them in person and it looks pretty nice

For gods sake dont spend the money to paint your car black... If youre set on either of those colors, I like the sage mist.
That being sad, I agree with the custom color. What about something like a metallic navy blue?

I can understand not wanting to change to a custom color. If you need to repaint something down the road custom colors can be a pain to match.
Even when changing a cars color I like to stick with a known OEM paint. Mitsubishi has some really awesome pearl colors that people will swear are custom jobs. My 97 Galant had a pearl red color to die for as did my 2001 galant. The reason you dont notice mitsubishi's awesome pearl colors is because 99% of people dont care enough to hand wax them which is what really shows off pearl colors. I changed to color of a nissan hardbody to the color of my 97 galant and it was a stunner but still a OEM paint so getting parts painted was no big deal.
I'd go with the evergreen, its a much richer color and would look great if you had some pearl mixed in. Plus if you stick with the stock color then you dont have to worry about door jams and engine compartment matching. To me the sage looks old ladyish.

I'm gonna vote for Deep Evergreen because I like the way it looks and it will also be cheaper not having to paint door creases and engine..that is assuming you are considering of doing the paint job right. It would look kinda ghetto and ghey if you painted the outside sage mist but then the engine back looks dark green.. thats just me. Plus at least your paint will match the code on the Vin plate in the engine bay
On the other hand, I agree with Max Ride 41, that IS the color you really want aka VVVV

Nothing worse then seeing a nice car and then seeing a different color in those areas.

Keep the deep evergreen.
-Cheaper (you won't have to repaint the inside of the doors, engine bay etc)
-If you ever go to sell the car, having the car painted a different color than what is on the firewall becomes a negative because people will assume that it's been in an accident.

well, i have the same issue, really. i have a 97deep evergreen as well, and want to paint it black. but i digress...
i vote deep evergreen for you, but only because i am partial to the color. however, the sage is a beautiful color, day/night, rain/shine. it does have potential. just keep in mind that the lighter the color, the quicker dirt and grime will show up(but thats a duh thing)
