Anyone here had experience with Auto-RX? need your opinions

For those of you 4-gen guys who have experience with auto-rx, I have 2 questions:
1. did it really work on your engine, what improvement you got ?
2. will it cause further oil leak after application?

I read some testimonials about auto-rx, not sure if those stories are "commercials", I would like to confirm its effectiveness here.
My car has 122k on the engine, it has oil leak, lose half a quart in 1k. I don't expect auto-rx can fix it, but i don't want it get worse. any opinions? thanks!

I think this product is just like any other product you find at any auto parts store. How can a liquid fix a leak, it may clean but not seal a leak. Lift you're car up access the leak, go from there

If you already have a leak, then I would fix that before using auto-rx. This product gently cleans out your lubrication system. It can actaully cause leaks by removing deposits on seals that have been deformed. That is why they tell you to run a change of dino oil through after the treatment, to recondition the seals.

It is a good product though, but its not designed to seal leaks.

thanks! I took my car to a mechanic today, pretty much sure it's the worn-out piston which caused the leak and burning oil.
It seems that there is not way to make the oil leak go away, unless replace engine.

I had no leaks when I got my 96 three years ago, and it had 80,000 miles on it. Just on a whim I used the Auto RX, because I was not sure how often the original owner changed the oil. Did I do anything for my car, I have no clue? I could not tell any difference. I followed their directions to the letter.

some snake oils work to a degree, i think bg engine treatment works well in my engine to keep rattle to a minimum. i've also used mothers seal tightener in oil with some sucess, just remember they're only a quick fix and not a permanant one and keep up on maintenence and you'll be ok.

The only thing that should be in your crank case is engine oil.

Everything else is simply marketing 101.

I'm thinking of using some 0w-30 Syntec in October.... Off topic, but closer to getting those thread starting privileges...

The only concern for me is if auto-rx will make the leaking worse.
