If your going to open the VI manually you'll want a toggle switch. You can use a Harlen rpm switch, summit rpm switch or a VAFC-II if you want to open it automatically. I'd suggest the VAFC-II if you decide to run the 5th gen injectors that way you can kill 2 birds with one stone since you'll be able to tune with it also.

Yeah I'm thinkin of doing this again.
However, does anyone know of anyone that can make me an extension ECU harness? So the current harness plugs into one end of this 'new harness' (which will be like a ft or two), and then the other end plugs into the ECU?
Installing the VAFC last time sucked. I'd love to just install it into this 'harness' and then have it 'plug-n-play'.

Will do, if I decide to 00VI (again).
I had a bad manifold with a leak I think last time, or a hose was missing somewhere, cause I was running lean (P0171). I spent months trying to fix it and never did so I de-00VI'd and have been fine since.

Seriously?
Have you read the stickies in AM? Read Tatanko's site? Read the manual in the first post? Have you done any reading on it at all?
Every single last bit of information you could ever want on the 00VI is available on this site, you just need to search for it.
Yes, it bolts up. And no, it doesn't bolt up. It all depends on what you mean by '00VI'. Yes, you can change the ECU. No, you don't have to.
Search.

Its not their fault you have to realize the countless people that ask the same questions repeatedly over and over, over the years. Most of the information could usually be found in stickys, FAQs, and most importantly by searching! Good luck! I've learned A LOT from these forums and ive barely had my max for two weeks!

Very nice PDF!
This may sound like a dumb question and I don't know how I missed it after doing weeks of reading before doing my 00vi swap, but how do you not run EGR without a code by just leaving the temp sensor plugged in?
I'm running the 2001 block off plate and have my guide tube removed, but I also have the green EGR plug by the knock sensor unplugged. With everything plugged in and functioning wont it end up spewing exhaust gas into the engine bay?

The project may be abandoned, but the info that was in that pdf might still be useful to those attempting the swap for the first time.
And who knows, maybe someone might pick it up and finish it?
So, to those who have downloaded the pdf, if you could e-mail it to me, or post it up somewhere it would be very appreciated.
