painting dashboard
i am planning on painting my dash another color but i have a few ?'s
first off would i have to remove my dashboard out of the car. and if so does anyone know how. would it just be easier to tape everything off and spray the dash in the car. my next question is i just repainted my car brandywine which is like a deep burgandy color, does any one have any suggestions on what color to paint it, right now it is that nasty brown color. i have seen a couple maxs done but i cant recal any of there names or i would have pm them. :bonghitte:

Take the cluster out of your car, and disassemble the bezel from the cluster, then do your painting. Unless you want over spray all over your interior, by all means do as you wish, but since you have to take the cluster out to get the lexan plastic shield off you might as well put it on your hood to paint...it's a good flat surface...he he he

I think he's talking about the dash itself, not the gauge cluster. Hence the ugly brown color.
To answer your question, they make professional dyes that can be brushed on so you wouldn't have to take your whole dash out. Ask Piopremier on where he got his. If you want to use the spray dye stuff, yes the dash is gonna have to come out. Or you're going to have to do a professional job of masking it. My dash was dyed in the car due to time constraints, and it's not that big of a deal.
