Idle question: jumps in neutral

Greetings,

I have a 95 se manual and noticed today that when i am neutral my idle jumps a bit. not much.. but when the rpms come back down from driving speed they seem to go a bit low.. around 500 or lower, but then will randomly jump up to around 900 or 1000 and then back down again.... it repeats this for a while non-stop until i put it back in gear and step on the gas. i just noticed this and on my hour drive home i noticed that it doesnt do it all the time. any ideas? also, further info about the car i replaced the tps about a year ago or so, so i am not thinking thats the issue.

has there ever been any check engine lights? are you putting proper octane gas? mine requires 91...have you cleaned the egr/throttle body? mine is a 99 and it was extremely dirty. i maintenance my car properly but still even sometimes it will go to about 500 when it should be 700 at red lights (automatic). this happens very rarely for me. fuel injection cleanse would be helpful for a car that age

no cels.. well yes there are but for my catalytic converter nothing engine related.. and yes i use proper fuel. all maximas recommend premium fuel. i cleaned my tb a while back.. now that i think of it, it has been quite a while.. year+. maybe i should tear that open and clean it out. could a dirty tb be the cause? would love it if it were that simple.. been having issues recently with my max and a simple fix would be nice for a change
