clunking noise/bad transmission mount?
I dont understand whats wrong with my I30t as I cant exactly pinpoint the problem. I just installed two lower control arms, tie rods, struts, and brakes hoping that my I30 would run as it once did(197,000 miles now). The problem that I'm having is that first gear shifts really hard and then after second gear shifts i hear a clunking noise. This same clunking noise kinda happens to a lower extent noise wise when I put my car into drive or reverse not as severe as it is once second gear shifts. But the worst feeling is there is some vibration with the acceleration and if i let go of the pedal for a second and push it lightly again after a few tries i feel something horrible, almost as if my tranny is about to fall off or as if theres a rumble in my drivetrain.
I thought it was my motor mounts but my mechanic who i took it to twice said all my mounts were in good shape. I hope its not a bad transmission and instead a bad transmission mount, but im sure you guys would be able to better assist me on what it could be. If you guys could throw some suggestions my way, maybe ill attempt to do it myself if its not to hard of a job or at least if you guys let me know where the tranny mount is and how to diagnose it, i could check it out.

when was the last time that you checked your tranny fliud or had it changed, as for the mounts you can have some one sit in the car and shift the tranny from park to drive to reverse a few times as you watch the the motor move around. thats one way to check it without getting under the car and looking at them.
