Removing Pillars
Removing Pillars
ok so the A and B pillars i think there called, the ones that house your tweeters with a bose system in a 96, how do i remove those? two reasons, one has a slight rattle i want to fix, and the tweeters need replacing
What I did was pull the weather strip from around the door. Then I got a flat head screw driver and popped it into the opening where the headliner and the pillar meet and just pry. Once you've got enough clearance you can do it by hand to avoid breaking anything. There should be three metal tabs that snap in. More than likely one or more are broken like mine. The new tweeter pillars made a huge difference because the tabs werent broken so the ratting and squeak is gone but at the same time I've got more high frequency sound coming out of my radio
.Oh and dont pry from bottom as someone stated above, you will break the two plastic tabs that secore it on the bottom
