Removing Pillars

Removing Pillars

ok so the A and B pillars i think there called, the ones that house your tweeters with a bose system in a 96, how do i remove those? two reasons, one has a slight rattle i want to fix, and the tweeters need replacing

well obviously... how do i get to the screws, there are none visible

i would guess they are just some clips, stick a flat head in the top and try to open it up

take a flat head screw driver and pop out the bottow then countinue up from there until u can pull it off not to hard

Hey I just did a tweeter upgrade on my GXE since it did not some with tweeters.

What I did was pull the weather strip from around the door. Then I got a flat head screw driver and popped it into the opening where the headliner and the pillar meet and just pry. Once you've got enough clearance you can do it by hand to avoid breaking anything. There should be three metal tabs that snap in. More than likely one or more are broken like mine. The new tweeter pillars made a huge difference because the tabs werent broken so the ratting and squeak is gone but at the same time I've got more high frequency sound coming out of my radio .



Oh and dont pry from bottom as someone stated above, you will break the two plastic tabs that secore it on the bottom
