I have been looking through posts and I noticed lots of people are running S Tech springs with AXG struts. I am assuming that this is a decent combo since multiple people are running this set up.
I am a greedy bastard and I want a nice drop along with good handling but I cant afford coilovers. This setup isnt exactly cheap.. the AXG struts alone are around $500 so I wanted to get some opinions before I order. I dont really care much about harsh ride.. I just want good handling and I want to see that awful gap vanish.
Any comments on this setup? Any other things I should look into with a drop this far aside from a alignment?

Agx are very temp. sensitive, meaning you can feel the different the colder it gets outside. I am running the this set up on one of my cars. I think the Illuminas are better IMO. My other car had illumina/stech. I swapped to eibach springs (both 4th gen)
Just be patient and save up for coilovers. The ride will be better and more reliable and you can go a lot lower than s-tech.

How is the handling? Any other issues you had after running the S techs?Originally Posted by maxboy325

I dont agree with that. I owned K-sports for 3+ years and ended up replacing every single strut at least once, some twice. Almost every other coilover company I've looked into recommends that you replace them every year or two.Originally Posted by maximized98

I've had my set-up since the beginning of June. The drop is perfect. It makes the car as low as a stock BMW. I used to live in PA, and the roads where I lived were very good, so the ride was smooth. Now I live in NY, and with 18's and a 40 series tire, the ride got a bit rough, but it was bearable. I just switched to 17s and a 50 series tire, and the ride is a lot better. Handling is good, definitely better than stock. And with the AGX's, you can adjust stiffness in less than 5 minutes. As soon as I got the drop installed, I scraped backing out of my friend's driveway. But now I think I'm a certified low-car driver. I'm always cautious of potholes, bumps, and ramps.
However, I still wish I could have spent a couple hundred more dollars and gotten BC Racing coilovers.
Get the AGX from importrp.com. Its less than $500.. its in the low-400's IIRC.

are you kidding? S-tech is about as aggresive as it gets with lowering springs. out of 12 or so lowering springs for the A32, there is only 1 lower than s-techOriginally Posted by ThreePointO

ALSO, s-techs have given me a little bit of negative camber. It looks good, but I don't feel like replacing tires often, so I got eibach camber bolts for $25.
As far as looking into things besides alignment, make sure your front suspension is in good standing. I've changed my sway bar end links, sway bar bushings, and control arm bushings. (energy suspension FTW)
also, my mudflaps are a little chewed up from the bottom. they sit about 2 inches from the ground

Stechs are a GOOD looking drop but the springs are soft. Handling is ok.Originally Posted by kingofquartz

i have this exact combination and its great...i used to have the stiffness set all the way stiff...and it was cool for about a month and then it got annoying...but if u set the shocks to soft...its amazing...u get about 90 percent of the comfort of stock...and trust me comming from boston where some of the roads havent been re done since the 1800s...i can tell u honestly its comfortable...did u get limited lifetime warrantee with the agx??
