i was looking through my chiltions the other day while trying to figure out my TPS and noticed that the cars with auto trans have a different TPS. from what i read it has just a standard potentiometer and a WOT switch. i have a 5 speed and i was wondering if i could put a TPS for a auto car on it and use the 2nd plug as a WOT switch for spray? so i guess im asking if the potentiometer plugs are the same on both cars and do they both read the same at the same throttle %?

Maybe if you could find "P" that would help.

 

You cant use it as a WOT switch. If you check continuity between two of the pins on the switch (i forget which two pins) you will realize that the switch activates way before WOT.

 

So i used to have a auto and now a manual and I too noticed that on the TB there are 2 plugs for autos - 1 is TPS and the other is the idle adjuster for A/C i think. Why doesn't a 5speed need the a/c idle adjuster??

I defintely notice that the power steering on my maxima is alot less power compared with my Cefiro so not sure if the cefiro had better PS or the idle adjusters helpout

What about removing it and replacing it with another tps?
