HELP!!! MY CAR IS DEAD !!!

ok, so now that my car starts when i changed the battery and alternator, the only problem is that the car doesnt go above 2k rpm, it feels like the car cuts off the gas, and anyways after a lot of searching there are probably 2 things that could affect this, either the MAF because there is a frankencar intake with an apexi filter LOL i know that it kills it, or there is a problem with the engine coolant temp sensor or something like that, and when i went to a guy to check it yesterday, he had a maxima and he looked at my car and he said that it may be that... idk what do you guys think, at least where do u think i should start as im going to fix it tomrw morning asap at the junkyard! thanks =]

is it the starter? because when my car is connected to another car or machine battery, it starts without problems... so is it still the alternator

does the battery have a CHARGE on it? I know you said the mechanics tested it, but it doenst sound like anyone has charged it. Take the car for a drive after you jump start it so you can put a charge on the battery. While your car is running also put a voltmeter on the battery terminals and tell us what it reads (should be around 13 volts).

get a haynes manual as well, some of these tests are elementary.

I feel you man, I would put on a different battery and go from there. My old one went out quick. It worked perfect one time then went flat dead in two days. good luck

If you have the original starter in the car there is a good chance it is shot after all these years. The starter is fairly easy to remove 30-60 mins. Consider taking it out and getting it tested. If you are having starting issues and the starter is like 10-12 years old there is a very good chance it needs replacing. I kind of learned this the hard way recently.

Even if you change the original starter and it does not fix the problem you can be more confident that you won't get stuck somewhere one cold night. If you don't mind spending the money. I've seen reman starters on Amazon for like $90-100, those are OEM starters that have been rebuilt, that's all you need.

yeah, it's pretty straight forward, only two bolts hold it down. and two connections and your done. you will however have to remove the air box from the throttle body but that's only a couple clamps and disconnecting a couple sensors.

Get one from a junkyard, or from someone parting out in the classified section. Before you think your MAF is shot, unplug all the sensors and reconnect them, check all the hoses to make sure there isn't a leak. Just to make sure before you go spending money.

Coolant temp sensor is $30 or less.. it wont stop you reving over 2500rpm but will make your car stall out or not start
