Check Engine wount go away!!!

So i have a check engine light for knock sensor, both o2 sensors, and something about key cycle... i replaced the knock sensor and the o2 sensor... and the CEL is still on... i cleared it with the comp.... still there but the CEL is only on when the car is running, doesn't show up when the ignition is just on.

It shows all the codes still.... is my computer confused??

if you didn't solve the "something about key cycle" problem, that is likely why the light is still on...

Pg 240 .... "MIL will not light for KS, KS has one trip detection logic" Straight from the FSM. In other words ... very factual.

He is not stating that the KS is lighting the Cel. More than likely the O2 sensor lit it and when it was checked, the KS code came up. He is stating that after replacing said items, the codes are still showing up.

There should be a sequence to reset the ECU by driving in the manual (there was for my wife's pathfinder).

Did you install the new parts and then clear the codes right away? Drive it for a bit (according to the sequence, if there is one) and then clear the codes again.

So, do you have a CEL lit right now? Go to AutoZone and they can clear it for you. That's the easiest way. Anothe way is to disconnect the bat, both terms. Tie (zip or wire) the Pos and Neg leads together and leave them that way for ~30 min - 1 hr. No, I'm not messing with you ... you will not hurt anything, only gripe is that you'll have to reset your radio settings. Big deal ....

If you do clear the codes and the light come back on, re-read the codes. And again ... the frickin KS will NOT trip the CEL - for the love of Pete.

you can also reset the codes with the screw on the side of the ECU. as stated in the chiltions manual. doing it this way wont make you have to reset your radio.
