tire rating max speed

tire rating max speed

Hey,
I have been wanting to test out the max speed of my 96 se. i figure it could go at least 135 on a straightaway, the only thing is that i have H rated tires that say the max speed is 130. would it be safe (relatively) to go above that speed for a very brief period of time?

Why don't you ask the tire mfg. Get the answer in writing before you try it.

they are somewhere in japan. besides, no manufacturer would ever say you could go above the rated speed.

It all depends on the what exact tire it is, and age and or condition of them.
