Broken Headlight

When I bought my 96 it had a BB type hole in the right headlight. 1/8th" hole with backside broken leaving an inverted cone shape. the broken piece is still there in the housing.
1 Are glass lenses the norm for 96?
2 Has any one ever glued one back together using epoxy or the like?
3 Does any one have a cheap extra?

1. Yes.
2. I'm sure they have
3. Which is the right-side? Driver's side or Passenger's side? If it's the DS, PM me, I have one.

Right side = passenger side of car, car has a left and right just as we do.
Thanx Saber, wrong side tho.

You may try the classifieds 4g forums. Or, PM Maxima Joe, I bet he's got one.

You can remove the old lens by putting the whole headlamp in the oven (oven at 150 F) for a few moments. It softens the glue and you can remove the old lens. Be careful, it's gonna be warm. Also, when you are prying the lens off (I used a wide flat blade screwdriver) be gentle, don't pry too hard. If it doesn't come off easy, re-heat it, it should almost fall off. Or ... easier yet, just replace the whole thing. lol

Well I separated my headlight housing and glued the broken piece of glass back in. Reassembled everything and works fine, time will tell how the glass holds together.
Only problem was I broke the back half where the left/right adjustor socket pops in. Glued it back together with some contact cement I had.

Hang on to that headlight Dave, I just might call if this doesn't work.
