Headlights blink~

I used to have 9004 HID with shields. One day I noticed that the HIDs sarted to blink occasionally. Since they were bright, I could notice that pretty easily. I thought that was the HID ballasts acting up, so I switched back to regular 9004.

While I am getting used to regular 9004s again, I noticed that the headlights' got some problems still:

1. When I turn them on, they two don't come on together. The driver side usually comes up first and 1sec later the passenger side comes on. That usually happens when I turn them on the 1st time of the day.

2. When blinkers are on during the turn, the headlights act fine. When I finish the turn and blinker turns off, the passenger side headlight blinks once or twice and becomes steady on.

Relay? Wiring? Or others? I checked the wiring, no visible damages.

Thanks in advance. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Could be the headlight switch acting up.

I'm also thinking the headlight switch. I know if I turn my lights on slow enough, 1 will turn on before the other. Same thing when I flip the high beam.

i'm thinking the same thing for the same reason. switch may be just worn out, from the years of use. check your connections/plugs on the switch.

Thanks for the suggestion, guys.
Is this "[25540] HEAD LAMP TURN SIGNAL SWITCH" the one you mentioned?

(ref. http://www.courtesyparts.com/)

If so, I will try to take it apart first and see if I could clean the connectors for the headlights first.

Got the switch from Ilyak, fast shipping and nice packaged BTW.

Checking the ESM trying to figure out how to replace it and ran into this question:
There are two special bolts, one on each side, Torx T50. According to ESM, it's got some bonding agent coating and needs to be replaced after removal. Am I reading it right? Is it necessary (or a must) to replace them?

I didn't need to remove any specials bolts when I replace my headlamp switch. There are some screw underneath the plastic cover on the steering column, take those out, and then you can pull the top and bottom apart, there's also a plastic piece for the ignition, you can take that off too. Once those are off just unplug the wires to the switch and there should be two screws to come out and then the switch should just slide out.

Thanks for the info. I thought I had to pull the airbag out first according to ESM. Glad I asked the question here. I really appreciate it.....

On my 94 the driver side headlite would come on by itself while parked. It was caused by the headlite sw block/blinker combo sw on the steering column. I took off the cowing and sprayed some TV tuner cleaner on the cu. reeds. Problem cured. The sw block cost about $60 new. I'm assuming the 95's have the same set up.
