Key FOB

My Fob has stopped working, the remote start, lock/unlock, trunk, nothing works. I replaced the battery, how do I know if it's the fob or if it's something on the vehicle, I checked the fuses, they're all fine. Anything in particular I should look for? Or should I just assume it's the fob and buy a new one?

I'm assuming it's an aftermarket fob, but does it light up at all when you press the buttons?

It could be your alarm computer as well, it should have a manual reset button somewhere... have you tried that?

No, it's all factory, it just stopped working. Should I just go and get a new fob?

Some auto parts stores / lock vendors have testers for car remotes. However, the one at my local O'Reillys doesn't acknowledge my Max's remote, even though it does work. So that may not help you. If you reprogram it and it still doesn't work, there are other things on the car you can check.

3) Turn ignition key to "ACC" position.
4) Push lock button on new remote controller once (for example, if door is locked using remote controller during this ID code entry enable state, a new ID code can be entered).
5) If you need to activate additional remote controllers, unlock the driver's door, then lock again with door lock ****.
6) Push lock button on additional remote controller once.
7) This ID code entry enable state and setting mode remain until the driver's door is opened.
NOTE: If the same ID code that exists in memory is input , the hazard warning lamps will flash twice but the entry will be ignored.

Remote start = not stock. But I have seen them stop working because the metal prongs that make contact with the + and - of the battery get bent over time and the remote stops getting power. Try slightly bending the prongs so they make better contact with the battery.
