Car leakin antifreeze...D**n!!!
Drove the car today and parked it. Noticed a 1/2 inch dia puddle under the engine (water pump side). Looks like the pump has crapped out. When i bought the car it wouldnt hold antifreeze and the tensioner is makin a lil noise too. Only paid 1700 bucks for a car with 117k mi. Now i know why lol.
Im DIY...but this looks like a job for a nissan mechanic lol....

There is a link that is very helpful in the DIY sticky at the top. I used it when I changed my 96 a few years ago. I am not preparing to change out on the 99 infinity (i 30t). Does anyone know the part number for the tensioner. I was going to put in a new one during this water pump change out. Tried search but the search function is not working.
Thanks and good luck.

My Maxima developed the same leaking problem recently.. try changing the Thermostat Housing Gasket first before changing the water pump (Its $1.25 at autozone). Another thing to try before getting involved in removing the pump is to open the water pump cover and check for fluid around the pump and on the chain. Changing the water pump takes about 4-5 hours to remove everything to get at the pump and less time to get it all back together. Good luck!

yeah...its pretty cold outside so im not goin to do it. It doesnt look too hard. But dont u have to put the engine at TDC before u strart?? ANd How do u rotate the crankshaft to remove the water pump. THink i need to change that tensioner too.

You stick a socket and ratchet on the cranshaft pulley nut and turn by hand, it's not hard.
