**95 ECU vs 99 SEL ECU**

Can a 95 ECU work in a 99 SEL cali-spec? Would it be plug and play or is there mods involved?

99's have the immobilizer so you can't just plug it in.

Cali 99s have 4 02's, swirl valves, and immobilizer and other crap that is controlled by the ecu that is not in other units. There is no way it should be plug and play.

Its not gonna be plug and play even if it was you would have multiple codes stored.

No you can't and if you unplug the immobilizer in the 99, your car will need to be towed to a dealership or have someone with Nissan Consult come to you to reprogram NATS.

My key lost its program a while back and I had to get the car towed to the dealership and was forced to pay $110 to get it reprogrammed, which is ridiculous IIRC.

Just a heads up if you're planning on pulling the ECU on the 99...
