Help about choosing a tint percentage

Hi there,my car currently has no tint on it.............Shops around in my city don't accept going darker than 35% on the driver and passenger windows, but they do even 5% on the back windows ...I have now 2 options ....
1- 35% all around
2- 35% front and 20 or 15% on the backs
I was thinking of the 2nd option....Do you guys think it would not be fugly to have 20% tint difference between the front and the rear windows ? or it would be so I should pick the 35% all around ?
this is my car photo

Another issue : does the tint mess up the back window defroster ?

thanks

What are the local laws about tinting and how strict are the police? That's the reason I went with 35%, it's the legal limit here in WA. But many people go darker and don't get in trouble for it.
I'm not a fan of mixed % of tint, sometimes it make the car look funny. In my opinion.
And no, tint won't hurt your rear window defroster.

I'm also not a fan of mixed tint. When I lived in Atlanta, I had 20% all way round and it looked sharp. Never had a problem with the cops as it looked lighter than advertised. Course moving from GA to VT, I now have no tint on my fronts which in my opinion looks dreadful and would gladly take any % combination. Anyway...

To be on the safe side and to keep things uniform, I say go 35% all round too. As an exception, maybe put 20 on the rear window for better nighttime driving comfort. No worries as it'll be pretty difficult to tell the difference given the viewing angles and all.

And as Dave H states, tint won't mess up your rear defroster. What will, is if you have to remove it. Doing so is insanely difficult and if not done properly it can muss things up pretty good.

I'm not a fan of mixed tints either. But it all depends on your state law and how strict they are. I live in Philly Pa, cops could careless about tints. They are more worried about drugs and killers. I have 15% all around in my sig

Here in Ca, you're not allowed any tint on the front two windows. On my last car i still did 5% in the rear and 30%(i think) on the front. Never got stoped once in the 3 years i had it.

In the daytime

35% will allow ppl outside the car to see your profile but unable to clearly see your face

20% will be very hard to tell if u are a male or female drving the car

5%, u cant see into the car. period. ***not recommended cuz YOU cant see out the car. At night, u will have to roll down yur windows to see when u reverse.

That being sd, i dont go no darker than 20%. No real reason to. I used to have 35% on the front two windows, 20% 3 rear windows.

I personally want ppl to be able to see me a lil bit while im drivin, so i liked 35% and have that on all windows except the rear back window

Definitely 35% all around. The 2 tone style that is lighter in the front and darker on the rear is ugly with a 4 door sedan. It works nicely with 2 door coupes though. Tint shoudlnt affect your defrosters, my previous cars were tinted and no problems.

This was my 4th gen. Had 35% in the front, and 5% rear. I thought it looked pretty good, and I never had any problems with the PD. Same color as your car, so you can get a decent idea of how it will look. Hope it helps...
