i think if the scratches aren't too deep, you can buff them out with rubbing compound & then wax. good luck. sucks that some people are such losers that they have to do stuff like this. it's so ignorant.

sorry dude,....when are people gonna learn not to f**k with another man's vehicle?! I parked my car outside of my school to come back to it with a big smudged muddy shoe print next to my gas tank and on top of my trunk. The real surprise came when I washed it off, it was like someone had taken sandpaper and went to work on my paint. Anyway, the scratches were on the surface and it was just the clear coat that was damaged....so I took it to a shop and they used a wet-sander all over the area basically removing the clear coat to expose the paint and then using a high speed to buffer to bring out the gloss. It looks brand new. I just have to keep that area polished and waxed from time to time to upkeep.

So, basically, like Mauray said above, if the scrachtes didn't fully penentrate the clear coat, it can be fixed. Avoid touch up paint if you can, cause that'll make it look even more whack. Good luck.

If it did go through the clear coat, there is a long involved process that involves applying touch up paint in SMALL amounts with a toothpick or something, wet sanding, buffing, waxing.. i dunno, my friend had to do it once and it came out real nice. I will make him write it up and then post if here sometime when i get a hold of him
