thinking of doing something new with spoiler led

Since I thought off my spoiler and going for the non spoiler look, I was thinking of a way I could still use the led off the spoiler. This is what I am planning to do: take the led off the spoiler and somehow fit the led onto the inside, top part of the rear window(will have to mount screws onto headliner). I had my sister hold the led on the location where I want it and I went to the outside to take a look, it looked pretty good. It definitely will be different, that's for sure. I don't know if anyone have done this yet. I just want a different look. I will probably need to run the wires because the wires from the led to the connector isn't long enough. After I'm done with this, I'll take some pics. I'll keep you all updated.

Umm doesnt this come stock on non spoiler max's? Most cars without a spoiler have that third break light inside there.

I am sure it will look preety good. But, i wouldnt put screws through my headliner, i would just use some 3M double sided tape and stick it on. I dont know if you have noticed but some Bmer's do have their 3rd brake lights on top instead of having it on bottom and i think it looks sweet. post some pics after u done!!

they are big assemblies at the bottom not top, ive got both in mine, spoiler and inside 3rd, anyway it would be pimp if you just hooked the led up to some custom place like on the trunk ot built into the bumper if you want to take it that far

Maybe you can hook the LEDs to the security LED so it would blink when the alarm is on.

Yes, but it's ugly. The led on the spoiler would look much better.

wire it so it goes back and fourth like the led from the show knightrider 2000...then just record the voice of kit on tape and play it over and over...then you too can have a car that is alive...

I was thinking of wring my spoiler LED to do different things based on normal functions. We are working on a single board computer in one of my classes that makes LEDs light up in different patterns, and I was thinking of wiring this board to the LED to make it flash when braking, move LEDs in the correct direction when turning and stuff like that. Don't know how possible it is, but I was thinking it would be a cool project.

Yeah, that would be cool if you could pull it off.

I like the idea.

The spoiler up top, nice. Use crazy glue, shat works wonders. I put my max trunk emblems across the headliner right behind the reading lamps. Get nuthin but comments, "Did you do that yourself, or did it come like that?",,"I did it, its from the trunk",,"Wow looks cool". I be bored sometimez.

I would have to do some creative wiring, but it could be fun. . . Just need to get a LED bar to practice on. I don't think it will be hard to connect to the board, but it will be difficult to rewire the board to accept everything as I want it. I will post more if I acually achieve something with this, but I will have 6 weeks to play when I get off of for the semester and I need something to do.

you should mount one of those LED scrolls(like a NYSE ticker display) in your back window so you can type words on it and it will display in the rear window. So you can tell the Honda behind you to F-off or the cop when you are pulling away from getting your ticket "have a nice day-----pig). That would be cool, in a teletubby kind of way
