Just had both front axles replaced after my mechanic told me the boots were torn, even though the car felt smooth. Had the new front axles replaced and now I have a vibration/friction only when I accelerate - and is most noticeable between 2000 and 3000 rpm's. Even more noticeable in 3,4, or 5th gear or when going up hill. What could this be?

it's possible the "new" axle is defective. did you speak to the mechanic about this problem?

 

He said bring it back... I just don't want to hear it's something else, when nothing felt wrong with the car initially.

 

My thoughts are that the shafts were not balanced correctly from the manufacturer.

 

I can see the word "raxles" coming.
