Minimum increase, louder for the most part, but maybe 1-2hp.

Well look again ! ^^ I was just wondering where did you find the black corner lights is all as I didnt see them on the Bay.

But yeah man since you already have a decent ypipe you should notice
some gains with a test pipe, nothing is proven though...and it will be louder

For a measly 1-2 hp gain you're willing to hurt the environment??

You want some performance, get a ypipe. Leave the cat intact please...

Y pipe is SOOO MUCH BETTER, it only removes 2 cats, and somehow thats GOOD for the environment....

That's only for a 99 CA spec Max.....

Plus, there's a huge difference/role between the pre-cats and the main cat

Removing the pre-cat is definitely the lesser of two evils.

I could never really notice a difference....It sounded cool with my SP and SP2...but honestly its more trouble than its worth IMHO...get a Y-pipe and leave your cat alone...

Another thing is your def going to be smelling alot more from the exhaust without the cat and alot of people dont like that...FYI

I think the pre cats, together, do as much damage as removing the main cat. AND all 4th gens have dual pre cats, not only 99's. My 95 took off two of em, left the cat alone, and did custum 2.5in back to a Magnaflow muffler, its LOUD + some. All I know is that it has a muscle car growl to it, and sounds awesome. I think the test pipe would put it over the edge of loud, to a point of tickets, or worse, rice eating theifs....

i notice the same difference in my friends 350Z aswell, its not a huge difference but it was noticeable. and the possibility to pop a flame or 2 i think is worth losing the cats. im running unresonated test pipes, the environment...meh, my car cant be worse than most unmaintained cars on the road with cats.

Once the car is warmed up, the precats serve no purpose. The main cat is working 24/7.

IMO, your Max is loud because of the Magnaflow muffler.

well i care about the environment but in the Central Valley of California, it is so polluted that even if semi's were hybrid, it wouldnt make a difference.. Our air pollution situation is worst than L.A...

Well, i got the test pipe for $40 and hopefully ill like it...
