Dressing my engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This, it's too hard not to notice your valve cover and IM...

I used Wheel Cleaner on the IM and Valve Cover (Ignore the areas around the oil cap and Iggy Coils, I did the cleaning you see above w/ the plastic cover on and not off). I've also used Brake Cleaner and Carb Cleaner too. Next I'm using Degreaser and a toothbrush to get near the coils, I'm too scared to openly spray near the iggy coils.
All of this cleaning? Took 5 minutes. Go run out to walmart buy any of the aforementioned products, spray on the IM and on the valve cover, (the next step depends on what you used, for my wheel cleaner this is what I did), then mist away the grime, and then post result, and watch us droooool.

Interesting hood prop, aackshun.
One of the easiest things to do to dress up your engine compartment is to remove the upper radiator-positioning brackets, and clean them up with some aluminum polish. They will look great, but you have to put some clear lacquer on them or they will corrode quickly without the anodizing on them.
Polished compared to unpolished

Woof. Sorry but bright yellow loom screams rice. The blue couplers dont go with anything. All that eye popping stuff on a dirty engine just doesnt do it for me. I applaud your effort though. DIY is fun and you get to learn as you go. Grab some cleaners, stiff bristle brush, and some sand paper and you can improve on what you got.
This is what my car used to look like. Those were the days! Clean and low key is my style.

granted..i agree with you on the yellow looking rice. he did a good job...just not to my taste.
I wouldn't scream rice just yet, just lack of follow throught, he did say it was a preview, not his final product, so lets give him a break and then give him the white glove treatment when he says he's finished.
Good luck man, please for the love of god don't give up, this engine bay halfway done would look ugly as sin.
garr, that be the mevi cover matey.

Yo man, im feeling that IM cover. Thatsa nice touch
Not feeling the yellow but clean engine bays are not only visually appealing but they also alert you when a gasket is leaking cuz its easier to spot. Just do what everyone else said, keep cleaning, get a wire brush on a drill if you have to
When my 3rd gen was my daily driver, You could eat off that damn engine without problems.

hey guys kinda new here but what is that called that is covering your intake manifold? makes the engine real nice looking and ive been trying to find one for mine. Also where do people get the colored hoses and lines or do they paint them thereselfs?
You can buy the hoses. That intake cover is the MEVI or Middle Eastern Variable Intake. It adds a ton of top end power but lacks low end power. It was available on middle east spec 4th gens. You can buy them on the org if you get lucky or even from courtesy nissan
