I'm looking for a new motor and a 5 speed tranny so I could do the whole engine swap and the conversion. It has to be a 3.0, not a 3.5. If you got a 3.0 from 1997-2001 with 5 speed tranny, that'll be great.

wrong section, but your best bet would be to check out a local junkyard for the engine. in my area, we get our deks for $450, i know the guys up north get theirs for dirt cheap. as far as the tranny, theyre so much more expensive unless you can find one in a u-pull-it , i got lucky and found mine in a upullit for $150ish

 

Damn! I can't find any U-picks with maximas that have a motor. Plus it doesn't have to be a DEK but it would be great if it was.

well, a lot of junkyards have already pulled the motors and trannys etc, those are the kind of junk yards where we get our engines from. now, the u-pull-it is good for the trannys cuz its much cheaper. Just go on car-part.com, find an engine in your area, and call em up. thats how youll find your engine.
