to paint or not to paint grille opinions?

i have a chrome grille on my se max because the painted pearl white grille was messed up when i got the car. i am thinking about painting the chrome sections on the grille black. what do you think?

I'd leave it chrome if you have chrome door handles and window trim. Black may stand out too much if you don't have anything else black up front. (headlights, bumper lights)

In the end, do what you want.

i think it might stand out a little too much too, but it is the only chrome on my car and it makes the front look a little cheap imo

I just painted my whole grill white (use Kylon Fusion - Antique White) - it's slightly brighter than the car - so I'll hit it later with color matched touch up paint. I'll try to get some photos tomorrow to show you, over all it looks good - much better than the chrome.

I have a VERY thin line of Chrome around my door frames - and just the 'moving' part of the handle (which will get painted white too - leaving on one small hint of chrome on the car)

I'm voting for painting it white. I just finished painting my door handles and grille Pebble Beige. Go to autozone and get Duplicolor Import Auto Spray. Matches perfect.

Considering the Max is an SE, there shouldn't be any other chrome on the Max... its safe to assume everything else is either black or body colored so black would definitely match the rest as well.

I say you flip a coin on it and pick best 2 out of 3, either way it'll look good

You didn't get the lower side brackets back in correctly - that's why it's sitting too high (had that happen when I re-installed mine)...

The black looks 'ok'... I still need to get photos of mine...

Took me 20 minutes to work out why my grill didn't look right... I got a photo but the retarded camera won't give me the picture, hopefully my kid will get it so I can post it up.
